Team Work Brings Client Together With His Birth Mother

Updated: Jan 14, 2021

BirthParentFinder.com was contacted to aid in the help of finding our client, Jeffrey’s, birth family. His wife reached out with permission of her husband wanting to find any living biological relatives. Jeff knew the name of his biological mother, which helped greatly in the search of narrowing down a birth mother match.

Mary Branham, a genealogical researcher, who works for our company and the owner, Jay Rosenzweig started and competed the search for Jeff’s birth family. Together, they narrowed down the potential list of birth mothers to eight women that fit the name, area, and description Jeff had been searching for. Mary reviewed the names and Jeff's DNA to figure out which name was his mother. From there, Mary built a family tree and time line based on the DNA so that Mary's theory could be validated.

Mary sent a letter and left voicemails for the birth mother but all went unanswered until Jay called and left a message. Shortly after she returned his phone call. Jay then set up a 3-way phone call with Jeff and his birth mom. It was pure joy for both of them.

Jeff had taken an AncestryDNA test, which lead him to find a half sister on his paternal side. Growing up as an only child, Jeff was elated to discover he has four biological siblings. With Covid running rampant throughout the US, plans to meet his new found family have been placed on hold until it is safe, but that hasn’t stopped them from growing their relationship and speaking often. Jeff and his sister have a very close relationship, and he now has the opportunity to be an uncle to his nieces. Jeff’s birth mother is unfortunately ill, but they are making plans to soon be able to meet in person. Every night at 7:30 pm they speak on the phone as if no time has passed and they’ve known each other their whole lives.

Jeff says he holds no ill will, and never wants his birth mother to feel any regret over the decision she long ago made to give him up for adoption in hopes of giving him a better life than she could at the time. “This experience is filling holes for Jeff” his wife said." It hasn’t been easy, but it has been very rewarding.”
